This first post will just be some updates we've done to the house. I only have pictures of two rooms so far since I took the pictures tonight while the kids slept. I have to take pictures of their rooms but they were in there sleeping.
First is the dinning room. I've chosen these colors and Shane has really just been going along with whatever I say. But I think they turned out pretty well. Here's the dinning room before:

We replaced the carpet with wood laminate, got a dinning room table, Shane put up the chair rail and new chadelier, and we painted. I also sewed the curtains and hung the mirror. Here's the difference:

Chandelier:

Colors and curtains:

The next room, the room I finished first of all the rooms is the playroom for the kids.
Before:
closet

window

room before doors were off

AFTER:
closets with bins and shelves:

window and stage:

chalkboard border up close:

Lastly this is the hutch I bought on craigslist for $70. It's one of my best finds.

That's all for now. What they don't know that I find so funny is that you never know how your children are going to turn out. They all have bad traits as well as good ones, but the best ones are just plain hilarious. That's they way my children are. Sometimes they're gross. Sometimes they are funny. They can make you angry like no other human being has ever made you angry, but then two seconds later, during the calm of the storm they make you laugh. The best part is you never know what comes next. Don't be embarrassed of your children's silliness.
Take Isaac for example. His silliness comes from his inability to live in reality. He is always some form of Transformer, sharkboy, spiderboy, (insert any superhero and add boy to it).
(Picture examples of transformer boy.)

It's hard to get him to sit still except when the tv is on and then he can't see anything else. My nickname for him is Mr.Distract-o, because if the tv is on he can't concentrate on what you're saying or even look at you for more than two seconds. He definitely lives in his own world sometimes.
Recently he has informed me that he hates stepmothers... (*tear*) but I dont think he means me so much as he watched this movie 'Happily Never After' and the villain is an evil stepmother. At least it's what I hope. How could I tell when he looks at me like this.

Oh well, he'll grow to love me someday.
Here are some random Isaac pictures.

Now Isabella, she's smart and silly most of the time.

But when she's getting a lecture she really puts on the melancholy face.

She's probably the one that lives in the real world, sometimes needs help with the imagination. She names all her babies, baby. All her stuffed animals, the animals they are. Dogs are Puppy. Cats are Kitty. Only once did she surprise me on naming the fish we got her for her birthday and named him Fin. It was cute, but died a week later. Bye Fin.
She's going to be my bookworm. She loves learning and asks questions about everything. Her new obsession is twisters (tornadoes). She wants to look at them all the time on the Internet and know if they smash people or if they could smash cars. I think she has the wrong idea on what tornadoes actually do, though I've showed her.

Lily, little Lily. She's a whole lot of characters rolled into one. She's silly, sassy oh so sassy, clumsy, and dont let her cute face fool you she'd win in a knife fight against a ninja. She has her dad wrapper around her little finger but she doesnt fool me. Those teary eyes are all a game, and she's winning, at least against Shane.
Her new favorite thing to do is whenever I lecture someone on something not to do, for example chewing with their mouth's open, she likes to remind me that she's not chewing with her mouth open. If I say Elliott use your spoon not your hands, Lily says "I'm using MY spoon." Or if I say Isabella mind your business she'll say "I'm minding MY business." Whatever it is that someone else is doing wrong she makes a point to tell you that SHE'S not doing that. It's cute, but after days and days of it.. the cuteness starts to wear out.
Here's some of her cute faces.

Elliott.
Elliott is going through the terrible twos. He is learning from his brothers and sister that he doesnt get to tell me NO. He has to listen to what the grown ups tell him and this is a hard lesson to learn. He's visiting time-out for the first time and not liking it. As all children find out. He is learning that he cant eat with his hands anymore and that there are rules that even a two year old has to follow. Cleaning up is not his strong point. His new obsession is telling you in his very thick German accent "I can do it." He wants to do everything and anything. If you ask someone else to help you with something it's "I can do it," and he runs and, though he's little, tries to get it done first. He generally doesn't like it when someone bigger does things that they were asked to do because he wants to do it. Even though he throws some tantrums and argues with pretty much everything I say, he's still known as the smiley kid.
He got a hair cut since the last I posted pictures of him so here are some before and afters.

Last but not least Jacob.
Jacob is my baby, he's getting so big so fast. He'll be one before I know it, and then, shortly after, ten. His hair grows and grows and it's probably what makes him so irresistibly cute. He has learned how to stand up on his own and gets around with ease. His favorite thing to do, unfortunately, is to chew on shoes. He loves shoes. If he could sit in a pile of shoes and chew them for hours, he'd be in heaven. But alas, I keep the shoes on the stairs so that he can't reach them. The thing he hates most in the house is the baby gate. It's such a mean invention to babies. And he's so sad standing at it screaming, wanting to be on the other side. But since he started the whole putting everything in his mouth stage it's best that the gate is there so he doesn't get into the dinning room and eat old food off the floor. (I admit I only vacuum when the kids aren't here but that's every Tue and Fri. Hey when you have five kids you tell me how often you vacuum!!) Anyway...
Jacob is a good baby for the most part but dont let his sweet face fool you either, he will claw your eyes out and bite your ankles. He is literally an ankle biter. Anyway, here he is chewing and smiling away.

Oh the zoo

So we got zoo passes this year. Last year we had COSI. It's a science place for kids, which we still have until July but we went to the zoo. So the zoo was fun but even on a Monday there are a lot of people there. We only saw half the zoo and next time we plan on seeing the other half. But these pictures are of what we did get to see. PS. Any one wanting to come to the zoo we have a free guest pass. Leah bring Noah up.. Look we saw more than ten animals that's all I'm saying...
Brown Bear
He was digging a hole for a while and when he was done he sat in it. It was strange.

Jacob being cute.

Some kind of sleeping animal. I really dont remember what this is. Probably something easy like mountain deer. I dont know.

Lily at the waterfall.

The waterfall

The flamingos were pretty.

Blurry Izzy and the Stingray.

The tiger stretching and roaring.

The bats were huge. They were like a foot and a half tall. It was creepy and a lady was inside their pin washing the windows. They didn't care.

The elephants were moving all around but for one second he stopped right between some branches and posed for me. These were little ponds that represented the life in the waters. The kids put their hands in. At least we dont have paranas.

The last animal I'm posting about are these swans. They were building little nests when we got to them but later they were swimming in their pond.

The last picture here is the kids sitting out side the petting zoo, with the sun blinding them. I'm making my friends sister's prom jewelry for this weekend. Just a bracelet and some earrings to match her dress. That has to be done by this Thursday.
2nd. I'm still in the middle of making a dress for Izzy. I have the top done but the bottom is still in pieces.
3rd. Not really a project but I have to make a resume for a job I want. I'll be working with this lady who works with Shane (husband). She makes and dyes her own yarn and I will be doing the eventually but for now I'll be her book keeper. She needs to get organized so she can have more time to work instead of book keeping. Her yarn will soon be sold at a retail store as soon as she gets enough in stock. exciting!
4th. I'm pretty much my friend Jessica's wedding coordinator. I volunteered for this job and now I need some cooperation from the bride and groom. Help me out guys the schedule is for your own good!!!
5th. I'm still knitting. I just bought some really pretty pink and butterscotch yarn to make a stripped scarf with. If it turns out well I may try selling it, too bad it's almost summer!! Maybe I'll make scarves all summer and sell them next fall and winter..
6th. well I have five kids.. they count as a project. keeping them busy and not in front of the tv is a project. I need to look up some crafts we can all do together. and some outdoor activities. Summer will be fun. i'm getting rid of my cable. it's just a distraction..
oh and looking for houses to buy. that's an exciting new project. Can't wait to move into my own house where I can paint and decorate and do whatever I want!! super exciting!!

Easter Egg Mess!!

So the kids have plans for Easter Sunday so when they came over today we decided to paint some Easter eggs. First I dressed the kids in these very fashionable plastic Meijer bags to protect their clothes. Then we all went outside to keep the dye from getting on my beige carpet. It was a mess and the eggs turned out crazy but we all had a lot of fun.
These first two are my eggs. Well the ones that escaped the clutches of children repainting my eggs.

Next all the kids painting thier eggs.
Isabella with her crazy hair. They were running and jumping around before the egg painting and her hair is falling out of the ponytail.

Then Lily hold one of her eggs for the camera.

Issac and his crazy egg holding.

The little Elliott. He's not happy because I wouldn't let him have any more eggs because he likes to pick them up and throw them into the bowls. Needless to say he cracked every one of his eggs.

And lastly here are all the eggs we painted.

HAPPY EASTER!
